Westminster, MD (Sports Network) - Baltimore Ravens cornerback Dominique Foxworth will miss the upcoming season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament. Foxworth was hurt during Thursday's orientation practice in a non-contact drill.

"There was no contact, but he just planted the wrong way and the thing popped," said Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. "We're disappointed about that. I know how disappointed he is. Nobody's worked harder than he has to get ready for this season."

Foxworth also issued a statement via Twitter.

"There's nothing worse than letting down ppl you love and I love all the ravens players and fans. I'm very sorry," Foxworth tweeted.

The five-year veteran started all 16 games for Baltimore last season, his first with the club. He totaled 53 tackles and four interceptions along with 16 passes defensed.

A third-round pick of Denver in 2005, Foxworth played his first three seasons with the Broncos then spent 2008 with Atlanta before heading to Baltimore.

Over 76 games in the NFL, including 44 starts, he has amassed 264 tackles, eight interceptions and 51 passes defensed.
